City to Celebrate Milestone Anniversary for Myers Park
Annual Arbor Day Tree Planting to be held Jan. 25
January 17, 2025
Myers Park is turning 100! Celebrate this milestone with the City of Tallahassee at a fun outdoor event on Saturday, Jan. 25. Starting at 9 a.m., there will be family friendly activities, sweet treats, tennis demos and more. At the center of the festivities will be the annual Arbor Day tree planting event, which offers a neat opportunity for residents to reconnect with the earth while also strengthening this historic park’s natural habitat.
Volunteers assisting with planting will help root a diverse mix of 65 trees, including oaks, magnolias and maple. Please dress for the weather and bring gloves, shovels, drinking water and friends. The event will take place rain or shine. No registration is necessary.
The City of Tallahassee and Leon County have a long history of celebrating Arbor Day, partnering each year to protect and strengthen our local environment.
Can’t make the event in Myers Park, 1206 Myers Park Drive, on Jan. 25? The City’s 100 parks can be enjoyed year-round! Looking for a new hiking trail, secluded fishing spot, exciting playground or peaceful place to read? Find exactly what you’re looking for at Talgov.com/Parks.
