When does an Environmental Management Permit expire?
According to Sec. 5-56(h), TLDC, Environmental Management Permits run with the land regardless of ownership and are valid for 36 months. Permits may be extended for successive periods of time not to exceed 12 months each, provided the request for extension is made prior to the expiration of the prior approval and provided a building permit has been issued and construction of the development has commenced. After expiration, the applicant must resubmit an application for a permit and comply with all requirements in effect at the time of resubmitting.
Also, keep in mind that there may be additional permit extensions available after an emergency order declared by an executive order from the Governor (such as a hurricane). Please contact a member of our engineering staff at 850-891-7001, option 4 to discuss if such extensions may apply.
