How do I determine the zoning of my property?

You can check your zoning with the map with the following steps. First, click on the link above. Second, the title at the top left corner of the map is "Land Information Map, Powered by Tallahassee - Leon County GIS." There’s a search box below the words "Powered by Tallahassee". Enter the address of the property that you’re checking and click return. Depending on your connection, it may take up to a minute or so for the map to zoom in to your property. Third, the left hand side of your screen lists various options for layers that can be added to this map. The eighth option is "Zoning". Click the box next to "Zoning”, and the abbreviation for the property’s zoning designation appears on the map. You can learn all about what each zoning designation allows online.
